the transformation

We have been watching and waiting patiently for the butterflies to "hatch." Naturally it happened when we were away camping for the weekend. We suspected that it might happen that way, so we brought them over to Jill's folks' house to babysit for us. They witnessed all 5 of them coming out and gave them flowers for food. We picked them up on the way home and gave them some orange slices. We kept them for a few days and then Jackson let them go.

did somebody put up a sign?

Seriously,WTF, I think someone put up a sign that says, "leave your unwanted kittens here!"

Another one showed up last night. She is super skinny, but also super sweet and was obviously someone's house cat. She is not afraid of people and wants desperately to be let in the house. We have fed her. I think I am going to put up a few signs with pictures, just in case she is just lost, and give it a few days before I take her in. I feel badly about it, but we cannot take another cat. It is clear from her size that she is not able to find food for herself, so even if they do have to put her down at a shelter, it is better than having her starve to death.
